The MkLinux booter allows you to configure which OS (Macintosh or MkLinux) you wish
to be your default operating system. This option can be set in one of two ways.
The MkLinux control panel installed in your Macintosh System Folder provides a simple,
graphical interface for selecting the default operating system. Or you may simply edit
the file MkLinux.prefs in your System Folder to set the variable
bootos=mklinuxto make MkLinux the default OS. The option "macos" sets the machine to boot into the MacOS as the default.
When the splash screen is first presented, you will notice a count down clock in the
lower right side of the window. This counts down the number of seconds until the default
operating system is launched. This bootdelay is set to 20 seconds by default. You
may lengthen, or shorten this delay by editing the MkLinux.prefs file. In order to set
a boot delay of two minutes, add the line
bootdelay=120to the MkLinux.prefs file in your Preferences folder using a text editor such as SimpleText.
